Catania workaholic thieves caught – lasiciliaweb

MESSINA – Three people from Catania, two men and a woman, ended up under house arrest with an electronic bracelet because they were held responsible for several thefts in the Messina area. They would have targeted a primary school in Falcone, a former middle school (now home to a scout group) in Oliveri and a boat and sports equipment storage facility for windsurfing. All in the night between 4 and 5 October 2023.

The video surveillance systems were decisive, allowing the police to trace the identity of the three and locate an apartment in Tonnarella di Furnari used as a base. There the soldiers found a substantial portion of stolen goods, which were then returned to their legitimate owners. According to the police, the three thieves first reached the premises of a school in Falcone and, after having climbed over the entrance gate, taking advantage of the opening of a window inadvertently left open, they entered inside, taking away six notebooks for use educational. On the same night they reached the premises of a former middle school in Oliveri and, after having forced the entrance door, they took possession of a box with work tools. Also in Oliveri, the three suspects finally reached a boat storage area and after forcing the locks of the storage area, they took equipment, tools and outboard motors, worth a considerable economic value.
