“We read Galeazzi’s words: “threatening messages to us from people now in office”. These statements are serious both in method and content and, although it is not my subject, liable to defamation and on this, if not denied, the administrators will evaluate whether and how to protect themselves in appropriate and appropriate ways. Here there are no professorships, we believe first of all that the use of correct and real language and information towards citizens is essential. We believe that clarity and respect for democratic rules are fundamental.” Thus began the note released yesterday by Michela Riccucci, member of the electoral committee in support of Gabriele Berni, candidate for mayor of Monteroni d’Arbia.
“With regard to electoral issues, I also noticed that Galeazzi, who says “he no longer wants to stand by and watch”, perhaps in recent years was too concentrated on life and commitments in Rome and did not receive precise information on many topics concerning development of our municipality, for example, on the funding obtained for the redevelopment of the Grange of Cuna – continues Riccucci -. It would have been useful for him to be present at the participatory process requested by the Tuscany region to define the purpose of the 2.6 million euros allocated for the redevelopment of the old Grancia. But we know that at times, and for some, the electoral campaign does not lead us to look at the reality of things and propose projects for the future but to treat things in a distorted and incomplete way, as in the case of the civic list which reappears for the third time, organized by the same group of people, few and mostly former administrators, former Mayors and former Councilors of the municipality of Monteroni in the past. It seems impossible but some still have not accepted the result of the 2014 primaries and their sole objective is to turn back the hands of time. We have never agreed with the restoration and for this reason I and many others, who had not supported Gabriele in the 2014 primaries, appreciated, then supported and shared his administration because it was always focused on the development and future of Monteroni and because it is close to the citizens, as demonstrated at the time of the flood and Covid”.
There was no lack of response from mayoral candidate Mauro Galeazzi who, after saying he was amazed and amused by the response to an unnecessarily exasperated climate, said: “I think there is only a great need to look to the future for the good of Monteroni, and Even though it is convenient for some to remain in the past, I will continue to make the same proposals: why after 10 years nothing has happened on Cassia, no one talks about it and there are still no resources even to put out the tender? Why don’t some health services that are provided in hospitals begin to be provided locally? Why does Monteroni not yet have the urban plan, announced several times and never even started? Why is the waste service getting worse and the bills increasing? Why is Monteroni losing its attractiveness and population? How can it be resolved? These are all questions that citizens ask themselves and on which I will insist on proposing discussion. I’m not interested in anything else. However, I would like to point out that I am a doctor and researcher by profession and when I say something, denouncing a situation, I am used to doing so with the support of scientific evidence which, in the case of threatening messages or interference in the campaign mentioned above, is called evidence . So I invite everyone to be more careful in the near future. Nothing more and nothing less”.
“Furthermore, as everyone has seen, I have no problem putting my face forward and speaking in first person – concluded Galeazzi -. The good of Monteroni is only to discuss the contents and the future. I will not get dragged into the fight or even the witch hunt about what has happened in the last 30 years, which is now known to everyone and sounds like an alibi for the things not done in the last 10″.
