The countdown begins for the Mole derby, Spring category. In three days – Monday 29 April, 6.00 pm – the lights of the Juventus Training Center in Vinovo will be turned on and the show will begin. Torino returned to breathe the air of victory after a month of fasting, which was physically and morally demanding. The three points with Frosinone allowed us to work with greater serenity after the recent negative results which had also given some blows to the league table. Despite the difficulties, the Granata have remained clinging to the playoff train and now have a championship finale in which to raise the bar to access the championship poule again this year. All key matches from here to the end, starting with the derby. In fact, Toro occupies fifth place with 48 points but has to watch its back from Milan at -2 with one game in hand and from Sassuolo at -3. The fight for fifth and sixth place lives on unstable balances, every point counts: while the Granata will be involved in the derby, Milan and Sassuolo will have to deal with Monza and Bologna in easier matches at least on paper. Scurto hopes to be able to count on the best possible training. In the meantime, moving the match to Monday will allow us to bring together, albeit last minute, any players called up by Juric with Inter to have them available in the derby (with Frosinone the almost simultaneous presence in Serie A had prevented Ciammaglichella and Silva from being present on both fronts). In the meantime, the infirmary will also be monitored to understand if it will be possible to recover any elements, from Savva (tendon problems) to Bianay Balcot. Finally, no disqualification to be served among the Granata ranks.

For Juventus, the derby this year will not have that high-ranking flavor with which the Granata and Bianconeri competed last season. Over the months, Montero’s Primavera has not managed to concretely apply for the playoff race and in fact finds itself today in 12th place, 10 points behind from sixth with four days to go and therefore almost mathematically excluded. Juventus is a young team, made up of 2005 and 2006 players, who experienced a period of crisis in results from the beginning of February to the beginning of April with just 5 points in 9 matches (one win and two draws). However, the Bianconeri have shown signs of recovery in the last two outings in which, against the odds, they overcame Atalanta and held Roma to a draw, two opponents who are ahead of Toro in the playoff race. Juventus is therefore regaining confidence and Toro will have to be good at not fueling it further, granting gaps or committing carelessness. As for the individuals, Montero will not be able to count only on winger Andriy Firman in the derby, who was sent off against the Dea; Owusu will instead be warned by a booking.
