One hundred and fifty people who they would have the right to receptionas asylum seekers, and who have no other solution except live crowded together in a disused area of the former Cavarzerani barracks in Udine: to denounce the situation, today in a meeting at the Balducci Center in Zugliano, it is the Dasi Fvg network whose operators have collected the testimonies of those who live in the structure.

According to the association, therefore, there are 150 “invisibles” who live “outside reception” (and are added to 550 people officially hosted), in an abandoned area in the Via Cividale complex, called the “mosque” where they stayed piled up dozens of cots “for people excluded from official reception channels – cites the association’s report -. Here they live in a condition of overcrowding. These are young men and women between 20 and 30 years old, coming mainly from Bangladesh and who do not benefit from any of the services that current legislation recognizes for officially welcomed asylum seekers”.

According to the report, these are people who are have already been subjected to the photo-signalling procedure, preliminary to the formalization of the asylum request. The number of presences in the “mosque” it would be substantially stable and there is no certain data on average residence time in those spaces before transfer to official reception.
