ASL Napoli 1 and the Municipality of Naples are organizing a course for the license to manage dogs at risk of aggression: how it works and how to register.
The. arrives in Campania patent for the owners of dogs at risk of aggression registered in the appropriate register. This is a two-day training course, 29 and 30 June 2024, organized and managed by the ASL Napoli 1 Centro and the Municipality of Naples. The lessons will be held by Regional Reference Center for Urban Veterinary Hygiene (CRIUV)which is based in Veterinary Hospital at Frullone.
The register is deposited at theRegional animal registry. Registration does not depend on the breed of dog (such as pitbull or rottweiler), but from behavioral assessment which is done by veterinary doctors of the specially trained provincial health company. The ASL, if it deems it necessary, can then activate a process aimed at ascertaining the psychophysical conditions of the animal and its correct management by the owner or keeper.
The license for owners of dogs at risk of aggression
These days, after the death of the 13-month-old baby mauled by two pit bulls in Campolongo, a hamlet of Eboli, there is a lot of discussion about the license for dog owners. The CRIUV, in collaboration with the UOC Training and Relations with the University, ASL Napoli 1 Center and the Municipal Reception Center for Dogs – Office for the Protection of the Environment, Health and Landscape of the Municipality of Naples has decided to propose a Path training entitled: “The License: training course for dog owners”.

The course is provided in accordance with the provisions of the ordinance of the Ministry of Health of 6 August 2013: Contingent and urgent ordinance concerning the protection of public safety from dog aggression and the regional law of 11 April 2019, n. 3 “Provisions aimed at promoting and protecting the respect and well-being of pets and preventing stray animals” Regional Regulation 2 February 2021 number 1.
Who can participate in the ASL course
The course is aimed at 40 participants of which:
- – 20 places reserved for the AASSLL of the Campania Region which will provide the names of owners of dogs registered in the Registry of dogs at high risk of aggression;
- – 20 places reserved for adult citizens residing in Campania who own a dog or intend to adopt a dog who will send the forms prepared within the indicated deadlines and who will be selected based on the progressive order in which the registration application was sent.

What do you study to get the license
The course should be held on 29 and 30 June 2024. Among the various subjects of study, dog behavior, communication errors between man and dog, dog well-being and the dog as a good citizen, aggressive behavior: prevention, behavioral management and rehabilitation.
