the Vitali group wins the contract for a project worth over 100 million

Vitali Spa in a group with Francesco Comune Costruzioni was selected as the successful company in the tender for the upgrading of the new Bergamo station. A project with a total value of over 100 million, financed in part with Pnrr funds and with resources deriving from the Program Agreement between RFI (Italian Railway Network) and MIT (Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport).

The project by RFI, with the support of architect Cino Zucchi, wants mending the northern and southern areas of the city with two main elements crossing the railway surface, while the third route is created through a landbridge that connects via Fantoni to the school center of viale Europa. The management of the works was entrusted to the engineering company Italferr.

Among the planned works, the expansion of the spaces of the railway yard, the construction of two new “Bridge Buildings” which contain all the primary functions of the station, the creation of access systems to the station buildings and passenger platforms, via stairs, escalators and elevators. And then the creation of new covered pedestrian overpasses that constitute access to the station buildings and pedestrian and cycle crossing paths, with green areas and functions that define a truly new space, the coverage of all the platforms and the elimination of current underpass, which will be replaced by the two high-level crossings.

«We are thrilled to have been chosen to carry out this project of great value for Bergamo – he says Alessio Parolari, CEO of the company -. We will work with the utmost professionalism and tirelessly to deliver to our city a work that represents a source of pride for the community and that gives citizens a modern center from an architectural point of view and European-level services. For this and the other challenges that will see us involved in the coming years we will need to implement the work team with new professionalism and new strengths. We will therefore continue to invest in human capital. In the coming months we are planning at least 30 new hires among the various professional figures, from engineers to construction site technicians and testers”.
