EDIL, the construction fair organized by Promoberg, opened at the Bergamo Fair, taking place in Via Lunga until the day after tomorrow, Sunday 28 April 2024 (9am – 7pm). On paper, this is the twenty-eighth edition, but after about ten years on stand-by due to anomalous market dynamics, this year’s event, in a sort of year zero, marks the restart of a long-term project within an area that has always represented the most important Italian economic district in the construction sector. To facilitate businesses and families, free entry has been decided upon registration online on the event website (https://fieraedile.it) or in person directly at the fair entrance. Opening hours to the public, from 9:00 to 19:00.

The return of the exhibition dedicated to construction technologies 5.0 was welcomed with great satisfaction, demonstrated both by the public (among the stands of the internal and external exhibition area, and in the conference events dedicated to some of the hottest topics in the sector), and by the numerous authorities (institutional, associative, entrepreneurial) who attended the inauguration ceremony. Before the traditional ribbon cutting, the organizers were Luciano Patelli and Davide Lenarduzzi, president and CEO respectively, and Alberto Capitanio, Edil project manager; Renato Guatterini, vice-president of Ance Bergamo, and Giacinto Giambellini, president of Confartigianato Imprese Bergamo, representing the Bergamo Artisan Associations and the Bergamo Chamber of Commerce; finally the institutions, with Sergio Gandi, deputy mayor of the Municipality of Bergamo, Pasquale Gandolfi, president of the Bergamo Province, and the significant participation of the Lombardy Region, with the president Attilio Fontana, the regional councilor for Infrastructures and Public Works, Claudia Maria Terzi, and the regional undersecretary with responsibility for Sport and Youth, Lara Magoni. All those present highlighted their satisfaction with the (long-awaited) return of a historic fair, within a territory and a macro-area universally recognized for the competence and quality of its construction supply chain.

Thanks to the collaboration with all the representatives of the construction supply chain – starting from trade associations, professional associations, the University of Bergamo, workers’ unions and bilateral bodies – the fair community intends to encourage the innovation process of sector, with the aim of projecting companies towards a digital and sustainable construction site through a new model that promises to redefine the standards of the sector. The exhibition focuses on the themes of the construction of the future, with focuses dedicated to sustainability and digital, technological innovations (linked in particular to the green economy and the smart city), artificial intelligence, smart buildings (the so-called intelligent buildings) and condominiums, a building that still represents over 60% of the main homes in Italy today.

The overall exhibition area (between pavilion A and the external area) is equal to 16,500 square metres. About a hundred exhibiting companies, representing five regions, among which Lombardy stands out (84 companies), followed by Veneto and Piedmont. The podium of the most represented provinces is obvious: in first place Bergamo (53 companies), followed by Milan (12) and Brescia (9). In terms of product sectors, in first place are Renovation and energy efficiency (26%), followed by Machinery and equipment (19%), Finishes, dry construction, colors (16%).

The three days are enriched by a large calendar of collateral events (conferences, focuses, workshops and training meetings, which can be viewed and downloaded on the website (https://fieraedile.it/) which, on the one hand, focus on some of the most important in the sector, on the other hand they encourage discussion between businesses and professionals with representatives of politics, finance and economics.
