a delegation of Piedmontese whistlers for three days in Agrigento

Piedmontese referees will be guests in Agrigento for three days starting from 3 May: it will be a moment of the “In ALTO” project, launched in 2023 by the sections of Agrigento, Locri, Turin and Treviso with the ambition of offering some young referees the opportunity to direct competitions designated by one of the host sections: therefore the opportunity to try your hand at realities other than your own.

The president of the Agrigento section, Calogero Drago, commented: “It is a pioneering initiative and unique in its kind because it allows you to experience the association, technique and culture at the same time. The greatest satisfaction for us presidents is being able to see in the in the eyes of the young referees, the pure joy in experiencing this reality which can allow them to grow further”.

After last year’s experience, in which five players from Treviso (Stefano Bonetti, Enrico Borsoi, Federico De Nardi, Alex Hurmuz and Elena Soranzo), hosted by the Agrigento section, were able to direct as many youth sector matches there, in recent days the opportunity has come for five young Sicilian referees from Agrigento to compete on the Marca playing fields accompanied by their managers and also joined by the presidents and a representation of the Locri and Turin sections.

An experience that began in great style for the young Sicilian referees with the evening that hosted the international referee Daniele Orsato in the auditorium of Villa Guidini in Zero Branco (Treviso).

In the afternoon, under the supervision of the observers assigned to them – Luca Moscato, Andrea Rotulo, Antonio Carmelo Settembrino, Onofrio and Stefano Zambuto – they took to the field, each directing a match in the provincial Junior category.

At the same time, the managerial representatives of the sections of Agrigento, Locri and Turin were welcomed by the member of the national committee Antonio Zappi, by the regional president Tarcisio Serena and by the Treviso president Castellino, in a convivial moment and discussion on the project.

Now a delegation of Piedmontese referees will live for 3 days, from 3 to 5 May, in the Agrigento area to enjoy unique experiences from a technical, associative and cultural point of view.

All initiatives were sponsored by Ars.
