The Italian Absolute Championshipat 24MX is preparing for the Caltanissetta stage

Start Time – After the first stage in Cavaglià which saw the unfolding of an incredible first test full of competitive spirit and the cancellation of the second due to bad weather, the national championship which also acts as a point of reference for Europe, namely the Assoluti d’ Italia 24MX does not stop and is preparing to open the dance for the third and fourth test in Sicily: Caltanissetta, scene of the first round of the Italian under 23/Senior championship of 2022, will be the battlefield for these riders. 142 total members, 7 participating countries, 4 Motoclub teams that will compete in this third and fourth round of the championship.

The Motoclub Fuorigiri, led by president Salvatore Sardo, has designed the 46 km figure-eight course for the event and the three special tests that the starters will face for four laps on Saturday and three on Sunday: the Red Moto Cross Test of 4Km, the Enduro Test 24MX of 6 Km and to conclude the Extreme Test Bardahl of 1 Km. To inaugurate these two days this round will also be the prologue scheduled for Friday afternoon, in which the riders will give maximum display of their skills to inside a test designed specifically for the occasion and thus establish the best time.

The challenge between Steve Holcombe (Honda), Andrea Verona (Gas Gas) and Samuele Bernardini (Honda) in the first heat for the title of fastest driver provided incredible emotions, a succession of unpredictable twists that ended with victory of Holcombe. This weekend the English rider will therefore have to deal again with Verona, who finished in second place, and Nathan Watson (Beta), bronze in the first heat.

Also of great anticipation is the possible entry onto the scene of Brad Freeman (Beta) who, in search of redemption after the unfortunate injury last year which forced him to withdraw from the championship, returned to the saddle of his Beta in Cavaglià and battled for first place in a fiery prologue with Joseph Garcia. However, during day 1, the English driver did not start.

Big sparks are expected in the classroom this weekend 125. At the top of the standings we currently have Alberto Elgari (TM) who, in the previous test, managed to silently first recover positions and then snatch the gold away from Manuel Verzeroli (KTM) on the fourth lap, who consequently dropped to second place. Luca Colorio (Husqvarna) closes the podium.

Top of the class 250 2T he is currently occupied with 20 points by Lorenzo Macoritto (TM), who on the first day managed to recover positions and defend himself from Carlo Minot (Beta), who rose to second place in the third lap. Third place for Maurizio Micheluz (Husqvarna).

To triumph in the class 300 Matteo Cavallo (TM) was in the first test, followed by Morgan Lesiardo (Husqvarna). Mirko Ciani (Beta) and Giulio Nava (KTM) fought for third place in a no holds barred duel: in the end it was the Beta rider who was on the third step of the podium.

The driver to beat in 250 4T it is Thomas Oldrati (Honda), who dominated the special tests of the first heat. Davide Soreca (Kawasaki) managed to break free in the Cavaglià test after the first lap from the fight with Rudy Moroni (Honda), finally winning the silver medal. Moroni finished in third place, managing to fully defend himself from Jacopo Traini (Husqvarna) looking to overtake.

Clear ranking that of 450: Andra Verona (Gas Gas) is currently on top, followed by Samuele Bernardini (Honda), who dropped after overtaking Verona in the last round, and by Matteo Pavoni (Husqvarna).

First place in the class Junior it is currently occupied by Kevin Cristino (Fantic). Manolo Morettini (Honda) is in second place after defending himself in the race from the hits of Enrico Rinaldi (Gas Gas). Riccardo Fabris (Husqvarna) finished in third place.

Class leader Foreigners Steve Holcombe (Honda) is currently with 20 points. Nathan Watson (Beta), who took the lead over Joseph Garcia (KTM) on the second lap, finished the previous race in second place, taking home the first 17 points of the championship. Third for Hamish Macdonald (Sherco).

As for the rankings of the Italian Cup

To lead the Cadets is currently Sunny Marconato (Sherco) ahead of Damiano Cannata (Sherco) and Lorenzo Nicolò Moretti (Gas Gas).

With 20 points, Francesca Nocera (Honda) is currently the leader Femalefollowed by Sara Traini (Beta) with 17 points and Carla Rocio Scaglioni (Husqvarna) with 15.

In the Junior it was Francesco Giusti (Beta) who triumphed on the first day. Behind him, Elia Zucconi (Husqvarna) and Matteo Revelchione (Beta) finished.

The class Senior currently sees Alessandro Radice (KTM) in first place, but Tomaso Calvini (Beta) and Nicola Lanza (Husqvarna) will try to give him a hard time during this race weekend.

Driver to beat in Majors it’s Paolo Demichelis (Beta) with 20 points. Behind him are Francesco Caranzano (TM) with 17 points and Mirko Colombo (KTM) with 15.

Of the pilots Veteran it is Alessandro Dario (Beta) who holds the record for the moment. Second and third places go to Edoardo Ferrari (Beta) and Andrea Fesani (Gas Gas) respectively.

Moving on to IMF CupGabriele Melchiorri (TM) currently occupies the first position in the category 2 strokes, but will have to watch his back from Matteo Ferrari (Beta) in second place and Davide Accomo (Beta) in third. At the top of the category 4 Strokes we currently find Alessio Merelli (Honda) ahead of Edoardo Dovetta (KTM) and Davide Ferretti (KTM).

Leading among Motorcycle club with 57 points there is Gaerne, made up of Riccardo Fabris, Lorenzo Macoritto, Davide Soreca and Andrea Verona but, behind them, the Fiamme Oro drivers follow them with 55 points: Thomas Oldrati, Maurizio Micheluz and Matteo Cavallo; and with 54 points those of the Motoclub Lago d’Iseo: Samuele Bernardini, Kevin Cristino, Valentino Corsi and Morgan Lesiardo.

Between Teamoccupying the podium is the Fantic Racing JR Team faction made up of Pietro Scardina, Valentino Corsi, Riccardo Pasquato and Cosimo Pratesi.
