‘See Sicily’, M5S Ars: “We were right, the millionaire hole is there and it’s official. Now enough obstructionism, let the case be discussed in the chamber. And Schifani takes away the tourism toy from Fratelli d’Italia”.
“Now that the hole of over 10 million in the ‘See Sicily’ case is certified, in black and white, in the papers sent to the European Commission by the Region’s Audit Authority, there are no longer any doubts: on the matter, which we also reported in press conference and for which we made a complaint to the Court of Auditors, we were absolutely right. This was stated by the group leader of the M5S at Ars Antonio De Luca.
“It is essential – says Antonio De Luca – a discussion that is not only in the newspapers, but in front of the entire regional delegation and citizens, who must be able to listen to councilor Amata and Schifani, of whom we have many things to ask. It is a battle that goes beyond the specific case, but which affects the correct use of European and national funds, which must all be spent well, something that the Musumeci government has often failed to do. Brothers of Italy have amply demonstrated that they only know how to cause disasters, Schifani should take note of this and take the tourism toy out of their hands”.
The Cinquestelle president of the Ars EU commission Luigi Sunseri also intervenes in the case and has dealt with the ‘See Sicily’ affair from the very beginning.
“We will follow – he says – very carefully the European Commission’s final decision on the case. For my part, I guarantee that the commission I chair will ensure that future expenditure of European funds is made in a correct and prudent manner in the interests of Sicilians and businesses on the island and not, as in this case, ending up creating possible damage to the budget of the our Region. In fact, now we need to understand what the impact of the operation will be on our accounts and where the funds will be found to cover the commitments undertaken which cannot be met with European resources”.
