There is a video from the security cameras that would have captured the episode that occurred on April 15th in the Fiumicino duty free shop of the alleged theft of a perfume by the parliamentarian Piero Fassino. The Polaria investigators have acquired the images which will be transmitted to the Civitavecchia Prosecutor’s Office with the information which will be completed in the next few hours. The dossier will then be made available to magistrates in the next few days. Furthermore, based on what we learn, the investigators proceeded to interview the employees of the business where the incident occurred and the security personnel who intervened.
The information hypothesizes the crime of theft, a case for which Fassino was reported, and once transmitted it will be up to the Prosecutor’s Office to decide how to proceed and whether to delegate the judicial police to carry out further investigations.
Fassino, as a parliamentarian, was not listened to but – investigative sources explain – he can make spontaneous statements if he wants. Already yesterday the PD deputy – parliamentarian for 7 legislatures, former Minister of Justice from 2000 to 2001, then secretary of the Democratic Party until 2007 and mayor of Turin for five years from 2011 to 2016 – provided his version claiming to have already clarified with the managers of the duty free the question: “I wanted to buy the perfume for my wife, but having the trolley in one hand and the mobile phone in the other, not having three hands yet, I simply placed the perfume package in the pocket of the jacket, waiting to go to the checkout”. At that moment, he added, “a security officer approached me and challenged me about that act, reporting it to a police officer. I certainly didn’t intend to misappropriate a small bottle of perfume”. Fassino also claimed that he immediately offered to pay her and buy not one but two, precisely to demonstrate his good faith, but those responsible still decided to press charges.
After that expressed yesterday by Forza Italia MP Ugo Cappellacci, the PD parliamentarian received solidarity from the coordinator of Fratelli d’Italia in Piedmont Fabrizio Comba. “I know the man and the politician of integrity, the media meat grinder into which he has been inserted is unseemly for his personal history and, therefore, also for the history of our country. He is a political opponent – concluded Comba – but not for This allows me to doubt his integrity, convinced of his extraordinary moral qualities”.
