Fear within the walls of Iras this morning April 26th around 11.40am when a moving elevator stopped on one floor. Inside there were two workers and two guests of the rest home in wheelchairs.
The 115 alarm went off immediately and the firefighters of the Rovig command were alertedor, who rushed to via Giacomo Giro, the road that runs alongside the large building and emerges in the small square of the church of San Bortolo.
The team immediately got to work to get the people inside the elevator compartment safe and secure, that in the meantime, especially the two elderly people, they were scared and worried in the narrow space of the elevator.
The firefighters brought in with caution the lift to the first floor available and with special keys they opened the locked doors and let the four trapped people out. None of them needed medical attention, but certainly comfort, given the fear they had. The elevator safety operations lasted about half an hour.
In the meantime, the management has informed the company that maintains the elevator, to check the fault. The elevator is currently out of order.
