The Festival del Gusto 2024 will be held in Senigallia from 4 to 6 May, organized by the FLAVOR culturadigusto Association. Now in its second edition, the Festival of Taste presents itself as a “container” within which activities will be carried out aimed at disseminating sensorial analysis, teaching consumers to effectively use their senses to recognize and appreciate high-quality agri-food products. quality of the territory and beyond.

The event has unique characteristics: it will not be the usual event dedicated to food and it will not be “just” about eating and drinking. The professional tasters, thanks to their in-depth knowledge of the products, will explain how to use the five senses to grasp smells, flavours, colors and tactile sensations which will be associated with the strengths or weaknesses of the product. The intent is to change the consumer’s approach, so that he can recognize quality for an informed choice.

For this occasion, a strong synergy has been created between the major Italian taster associations, which will animate the event. There will be wine tastings led by sommeliers, we will approach grappas and spirits, we will taste craft beers, we will appreciate honey, cured meats, cheeses, chocolate, balsamic vinegar, bread, table olives, monovarietal oils with expert tasters and obviously the queen of the Italian table: pasta.

As many as 19 tastings are scheduled, aimed at both consumers and professionals, the events will concern both individual products or multiple products in combination.

Furthermore, on May 6th Flavor culturadigusto will present the sensorial analysis of pasta to the students of the hotel institutes at IIS Panzini in Senigallia, to spread the use of the senses to discover quality among younger people and future users.

The choice of Senigallia “Gourmet City” was inevitable: here food and wine has been expressed at high levels for several years now, but a piece was missing to complete the offer: an event with a thousand facets but with a single purpose, sensorial analysis to enhance excellence.

The Festival of Taste will also host the 3rd National Exhibition of Durum Wheat Semolina Pasta, as part of a talk show on the topic “Pasta: from genetics to health” with the participation of nutritionists and dieticians and that of the regional health councilor Filippo Saltamartini.

Two Cooking Shows organized by the Ancona Chefs Association will be an opportunity to taste some of the pastas that have achieved scores of excellence. It will also be possible to delight your palate at some local restaurateurs who will prepare a “special dish” based on selected pastas.

During the event, the photos participating in the 5th photography competition “… what sense are you?!?” will be on display, dedicated to the senses understood as doors through which to experience the reality that surrounds us. A jury chaired by Maestro Giorgio Tassi and made up of “tasteful” photographers will evaluate the photos received and elect the winners.

Places

The fulcrum of the event will be the Foro Annonario, with the display of selected pastas, informative tastings and show cooking, the associations’ stands and the photographic exhibition. The Saletta of the La Fenice Theater will be the venue for the technical seminars. The final events of the National Durum Wheat Semolina Pasta Exhibition and the awards ceremony of the photography competition will be held in the San Rocco Auditorium.
