The 10th edition of the renowned cabaret festival is underway “Bronze faces”conceived and produced by the “Calabria behind the scenes APS” association with the patronage of the Metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria, of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria, of Roma Capitale II Municipality and of Unicef Italia, is included in the “Cultural Activities 2022” PAC 2014-2020 notice of the Calabria Region. Illustrating this morning, in the Chandelier Hall of Palazzo San Giorgio, the event whose finale is scheduled at the “Cilea” theater on May 26th, was the organizational director of the festival and president of “Calabria behind the scenes”
Giuseppe Mazzacuva, the comedian of the duo “I non ti regoli” Giuseppe Scorza, the comedian and presenter of the final evening of the Festival Gennaro Calabrese and the president of the city council Vincenzo Marra. The artistic director of the festival and author of Zelig Alessio Tagliento is online.
The final will be hosted by the comedian and impersonator from Reggio Calabrese and the nine comedians selected in various Italian cities (Faenza, Aversa, Samarate and Rome) in recent months will “clash” with jokes. In addition to the comedy competition, the festival includes an important audience of guests: the Roman comedian of “Zelig” Dado, the comic actor Loris Fabiani fresh from the Amazon Prime show LOL and winner of the IX edition of the Festival, the comedian of “Zelig ” Rocco Barbaro and the comedian Gigi Miseferi, the duo “I non ti regoli”. Some guests will also be part of the technical jury chaired by the author and artistic director Alessio Tagliento and other experts in the sector such as the “Colorado” comedian Giovanni D’Angella, representative of the Faenza Cabaret – “Alberto Sordi” Award twinned with “Facce da bronzi ”.

“This is an important edition, let’s remember that it all started at the Odeon cinema-theater in 2013 and, thanks to the synergy with the national partners, the institutions and the artistic direction of Alessio Tagliento, the festival has become a point of reference at a national level for comedians – says Giuseppe Mazzacuva -. After the various selections in various Italian cities, on May 26th on the banks of the Strait, 9 comedians and protagonists will compete, this time many women”.

“We are proud…”
In connection with the artistic director Tagliento who makes a brief excursus on the “10 wonderful years with important names and winners who made inroads on TV and, therefore, on the national scene. With Peppe, we said to ourselves that it would be nice to have a little more women in the cast and, this year, there were a cascade of women participating in the edition. We are proud of this and, although the selections were challenging, we had a lot of fun. Comedy is opening up to classical canons.”

It’s up to Giuseppe Scorza who together with Giuseppe Mazzacuva forms the duo “I non ti regoli” to remember the “Facce da bronzi Pink” edition at the Grandinetti theater in Lamezia Terme scheduled for Saturday 11 May (and Sabrina Pugliese will present with him) where 8 women will “clash” supported by the talented comedians Chiara Anicito, Mariuccia Annata, Laura Magni, Federica Ferrero. “Comedians have a lot to tell with a new language and fresh jokes – states Scorza-. It will be an all-female evening and there will also be a fundraiser for the Artemide anti-violence center in Lamezia Terme.”

Going back in time remembering the previous editions, the comedian Calabrese underlined that “we started out as artisans and remained artisans but we evolved by adapting to the demands of society and, above all, of entertainment. I am honored and happy to host this edition where the female presence stands out which is certainly a touch of growth and hope.”

In conclusion, the President of the City Council Enzo Marra, addressing the “Calabria behind the scenes” team, says: “you are a virtuous, beautiful example for the city. The work you do is worthy and Reggio Calabria should take inspiration from you who, despite the difficulties, believed in a dream and made it come true” .
