The centre-left mayoral candidate Marco Piendibene responds to the appeal of the tenants of the Ater building in via XVI Settembre. According to Piendibene, the cry of alarm addressed to all the mayoral candidates is a warning to all city politics, given that for five years, innocent, they have been forced to live far from their homes, waiting for someone to decide what to do, choosing between demolition and reconstruction or renovation.
“No one must escape their responsibilities – states Piendibene – for the emergence of this situation, which is truly surreal, neither the majority parties who have governed, coincidentally, in the last five years, nor those of the opposition, who have not sufficiently noted what was evident before their eyes, much less Ater, which has the burden of management. Everyone should take their own view, therefore, but certainly on a hypothetical scale of responsibility, the outgoing municipal administration wins by detachment, as, moreover, happens with dozens of other critical issues that weigh on Civitavecchia. “For my part – states Piendibene – for what it may be worth in the electoral campaign, I honestly assume, together with my share of responsibility, as far as the opposition is concerned, also the promise to the tenants of an immediate commitment to resolve the age-old problem”.
