The students of the 4AT class represented by Paolo Stellitano, Antonino Stellitano, Amritpal Singh, Issa Al Hariri and Francesco Ventura, assisted by the 5BT and 4BT classes and accompanied by Prof Giuseppe Davoli manage to convince the qualified jury with the project “Road safety – alcohol level measurement “. The project, using an MQ-3 alcohol sensor inside an Elegoo car, implemented a system capable of detecting drunkenness and preventing drivers in this condition from driving.

The program on the Arduino board, developed this year by the students of Panella Vallauri, made it possible to turn off the electric motors of the Elegoo car when the sensor revealed an alcohol level higher than 0.5 g/l, creating a prototype that can contribute to the creating safer roads, saving lives, reducing the harmful effects of drink-driving and raising awareness among young people of the importance of safe driving.
