Today, Friday 26 April 2024, the Church celebrates the feast dedicated to this venerated figure who represents a moment of profound religious reflectionas well as an opportunity to meet and celebrate for Federicians.
In Andria, devotion to Our Lady of Good Counsel it is passed down from generation to generation, enriching the cultural and spiritual identity of the community.
The fulcrum of the Andria festival remains the Eucharistic celebration accompanied by the procession which runs through the streets of the city, a moment of high spirituality and popular participation. There will be convivial moments with music, singing, performances, popular dances, stands selling food and wine products, which will then culminate with the drawing of lottery tickets.
Worship in the city of Andria is cared for by Parish of Sant’Agostino which, in collaboration with theMother Association of Good Counselorganizes the solemn celebrations according to the following program:
Friday 26 April 2024:
- 06.30 am: Holy Rosary – Eucharist – Prayer to the Virgin
- 7.00 pm: Holy Rosary – Eucharist – Prayer to the Virgin
Eucharistic celebration presided over by Monsignor Luigi Mansibishop of Andria.
Prayer for citizen harmony: Municipal administration, military authorities and law enforcement agencies, associations. Entry of new members into the Mother of Good Counsel Association.
Saturday 27 April 2024:
- 06.30 am: Holy Rosary – Eucharist – Prayer to the Virgin
- 5.30 pm: Holy Rosary animated by the Association of the Mother of Good Counsel
- 6.00 pm: Eucharist, presided over by Monsignor Luigi Rennaarchbishop of Catania.
- 6.45pm: Procession with the venerated Statue of the Mother of Good Counsel.
Itinerary: Church, Porta la Barra, Tutino, Church of S. Nicola (prayer stop with the community of S. Nicola), Corrado IV of Swabia, D’Excelsis, Orsini, Diaz, Castromonte, Filzi, N. Sauro, Castromonte , Piazza Ruggero VII, Iannuzzi, Imbriani, Porta Castello, Vaglio, Arco Marchese, Porta Santa, F. Giugno, Church.
(Light up and festively decorate the streets) “Bassa Banda Molfetta” band association - 8.30 pm: Party in the square with music and singing by Michele Bonfitto “Jukebox of the Future”
Performance by Rocco Gesualdi and his popular dances Stand of food and wine products – panzerotti – pancakes, sandwich with sausage – cotton candy – crepes, etc… lottery ticket draw.

This year the event turns out to be a magnificent mix of solemnity and devotionfurther consolidating its significance for the Andria community.
The veneration of the Madonna del Buon Consiglio has its roots in a centuries-old history, which sees her cult as a beacon of hope and guidance. This special devotion is witnessed in different parts of Italy, but in Andria it takes on particularly distinctive contours, becoming an identity symbol for the city.
For Andria, the feast of the Madonna del Buon Consiglio is not just a religious event, but a moment of social cohesion, in which tradition and faith come together to renew community ties and transmit profound values from one generation to the next.
The invitation to participate and support future editions of the festival is an appeal to keep alive this precious legacy, a witness to faith, culture and community identity.
