LIVORNO – Rowing races, not even time to conclude the celebrations for the trio of victories in the Liberation trophy as the Borgo is already preparing for a new challenge, this time against a Pisan team.

Yes, because on April 25th, on the occasion of the first rowing race of the season, not only glory was up for grabs but also the possibility of competing against the rivals from Pisa in a race that already promises to be exciting.

The regatta is scheduled for this Saturday, in the same race course as the Liberation Trophy, at 5pm. The formula is also identical: a time trial pursuit with a double turning point for a total distance of 850 metres. The challenge was clearly the 10-oared boats.

An all-Tuscan derby, therefore, which pits the crews of two rival, but always united, cities against each other. The president of the Palio Marinaro committee also underlined this during the awards ceremony for the Liberation Trophy: a race that represents the quintessence of sport and its ability to unite athletes and people.

And if the next appointment is a real challenge between Livorno and Pisa from May 21st, in just under a month, the rowing competitions will come into full swing: first the Santa Giulia Cup scheduled for May 21st, then the Risi’ ators Sunday 2 June, Saturday 15 June La Barontini and finally the Palio Marinaro on 29 June.
