Ragusa is preparing to celebrate San Giuseppe Artigiano

The faithful of one of the largest communities in Ragusa are preparing to celebrate their patron saint, San Giuseppe the artisan, with a series of festivities that will involve the entire South neighborhood. The celebrations will begin tomorrow, Saturday 27 April, and will end on Monday 6 May with a holy mass presided over by the bishop, in which the city’s artisans and members of the federation of masters of work will participate. Sunday 5th, however, will be the day dedicated to the external party.

The neighborhood is pervaded by considerable excitement in view of this celebration, with a special devotion aimed at the saint of workers. The planned initiatives aim not only to honor the figure of Saint Joseph the artisan, but also to strengthen the sense of community and family among residents. The parish priest, Don Andrea La Terra, invites the faithful to listen to God’s call and to become, like Saint Joseph, builders of good and peace.

The celebrations will begin tomorrow at 10pm with nocturnal Eucharistic adoration, which will continue until 8am on Sunday. Sunday will be characterized by the prayer of the Rosary, the litanies to Saint Joseph and the Eucharistic celebrations presided over by various priests. On Monday, the celebrations will continue with the prayer of the Rosary, the litanies to Saint Joseph and the holy mass presided over by another priest.
