He abused his 9-year-old daughter, final sentence and expiation in prison for master father. On Friday 19 April, FM, a fifty-year-old from Viterbo, was sentenced to ten years in prison by the Court of Appeal of Rome for family abuse and sexual violence against a minor, events which occurred in the capital in 2013. The man was immediately transferred to prison by the agents of the Flying Squad, he is currently restricted to the protected medical department.
Eleven years ago a little girl arrived at the emergency room with marks on her arms and body. After examining her, the doctors decided to alert the police. During the interview, the little girl said that her father had made those marks on her body with a whip.
THE WITNESS
“He whipped me because I wasn’t good,” she said. Those few words opened an investigation into family abuse. But after the examination of the first witnesses, much more came out. The girl spoke of physical and psychological violence “he forced me to write a hundred times: ‘I have to be better’ and then sometimes when I’m in the shower he also comes in and touches me.”
The case against him suddenly became much more serious, in fact, a few weeks after the accusation of mistreatment in the family, the Prosecutor accused him of sexual violence against minors, aggravated by the kinship bond.
FM was described as a master father who disposed of his daughter as he pleased, beat her and insulted her for every slightest whim. The little girl was whipped regularly, the marks on his body were unmistakable. Just as unequivocal was the sexual abuse described by the little victim. The words “it touches me when I’m in the shower” were confirmed during the first instance trial.
What was depicted during the hearings was a scenario of terror and discomfort that the Viterbo family experienced every day. After the conviction of the Court of Viterbo, the fifty-year-old was also condemned by the Court of Appeal and the sentence became final and irrevocable.
Now he will have to serve ten years in prison. The transfer from the man’s resident to the protected medical department of the Mammagialla prison took place in recent days.
