CASERTA, THE REDEVELOPMENT WORKS OF THE ACQUAVIVA DISTRICT START – AppiaPolis – News in Real Time

CASERTA – The construction site started this morning to carry out the redevelopment works of the Acquaviva district. The first interventions are scheduled on the streets surrounding Via Acquaviva, near the border with the Municipality of San Nicola La Strada.

The works will concern the redevelopment of streets and sidewalks, with the creation of a large cycle/pedestrian path, the installation of new street furniture, the removal of architectural barriers, the installation of new road signs and the redevelopment of the villas.

In particular, the asphalt mat will be remade in most of the streets of the neighborhood, including via Acquaviva, via Trento, viale Lincoln, via Volturno, piazza Po, via S. Commaia, via Kennedy, via Feudo di San Martino, via Avellino, via Pasolini, via Ragazzi del 99, via Salerno, via Manzoni.

As regards the sidewalks, there will be a work of redevelopment and expansion of the existing ones, with the addition of new paving, and construction from scratch. The streets affected will be: via Feudo di San Martino, via Adige, via Serao, via Avellino, via Pasolini, via Kennedy.

The cycle path circuit has been set up along the entire length of via Acquaviva, up to the border with San Nicola La Strada, on part of viale Lincoln and on via Feudo di San Martino, including the extension of via Jenco which is the axis of recent construction which completes via Feudo di San Martino.

Finally, there will be a complete redevelopment of the villas in via Trento, via Arno, via Avellino and via Pasolini. In these cases the works include the installation of baskets, benches, fountains, new flowerbeds, modern lighting systems, children’s games and a video surveillance system.

All these interventions fall within the scope of the PNRR and in particular the PINQUA (National Innovative Program on the Quality of Living), which has a total funding of 15 million euros.

“We are starting with an extraordinary project,” explained the Mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino – which concerns the most populous district of the city, which, thanks to these enormous and unprecedented works, will take on a new centrality. We will have perfect roads, new sidewalks, a cycle path that will extend to the border with San Nicola La Strada, and the recovery of all the municipal houses. This is a total redevelopment project, which will take into account the needs of citizens, giving them back a modern neighborhood equipped with all the necessary infrastructure”.
