Sanremo, the sixth edition of “Villa Ormond in fiore” begins

Sanremo. Tomorrow and Sunday, 27 and 28 April, the usual appointment with Villa Ormond in Fiorethe sixth edition of the event dedicated to an excellence of our territory: flowers.

The event is organized by the Villa Ormond Foundation with the collaboration and contribution of the Municipality of Sanremo, the Liguria Region, Confindustria Imperia, Ancef, the Academy of Fine Arts of Sanremo, the Sanremo Flower Market and Unoenergy.

A weekend of floral displays, thematic exhibitions, educational workshops, figurative arts, theater and music where flowers and environmental sustainability will be the undisputed protagonists. Entrance will be free.

A weekend full of events, with temporary exhibitions, installations created by the Consortium of Municipalities of the Sanremo Basin, flower artists, chamber and live music. An event aimed at adults, teenagers and children. In fact, numerous free educational activities are planned for families: the Science Festival Association, in collaboration with the Regional Institute for Floriculture and with the Crea of ​​of Sanremo, offer interactive workshops on the themes of flowers, environmental sustainability and recycling ; Talea educators will take care of the little ones through a series of artistic, creative and experiential workshops which, starting from the flower, touch on highly topical educational issues: recycling, sustainable management of resources,
clean energy; Furthermore, a paper laboratory is planned, organized by the Lavender Consortium of the Riviera dei Fiori.

Abitare la natura, temporary exhibition with the presentation of the extraordinary pictorial works of the artist Rossana Rubino, creator, among other things, of the coordinated image of the event.

The Damascus rose – From Syria to Turin the Damascus Rose, recognized by UNESCO in 2019 as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, is a flower with captivating beauty and profound historical significance.

Originally from Syria, it has left an indelible mark on various cultures over the centuries. The exhibition, in an evocative itinerary, describes its cultivation, collection, use, cultural importance, protection and meaning in art. curated by the Royal Museums of Turin, in collaboration with the Santagata Foundation for the Economy of Culture and Syria Trust for Development, it consists of 20 panels and an installation. The planting of Damascus Roses is planned in the rose garden of Villa Ormond Park in the presence of a Syrian delegation.

Murals, an artistic performance curated by Marta Laveneziana. Visitors are involved in the creation of a mural on wood in order to stimulate their creativity. The installation is located in a particularly quiet area of ​​the park so that new artists can feel at ease and express themselves in the best possible way.

Concentrations: Work curated by Sofia Tonegutti, Valeria Cannazzaro, Vivian Gualco, Yuhao Li, Xinhao Luo of the Academy of Fine Arts of Sanremo. Each of us has a “Centre” to discover and protect. Finding your Center means knowing your value, rejoicing in your talents and accepting your limits.

The villa in bloom, the doors of the villa open to host the flowers of the Riviera. With the collaboration of Mercato dei Fiori and the artistic direction of Sabina di Mattia, floral installations are created to present the world of Sanremo floriculture.

Installations by the municipalities, following the success of the recent editions, by popular demand from the public, the Villa Park is once again enriched by environmentally themed floral installations created by the municipalities belonging to the Sanremo Basin and the surrounding areas: Bajardo, Ceriana, Costarainera, Molini di Triora, Olivetta San Michele, Ospedaletti, Pompeiana, Riva Ligure, San Lorenzo al Mare, Santo Stefano al Mare, Seborga, Sanremo, Taggia, Triora, Vallecrosia, Ventimiglia. An installation offered by Cna enriches the proposal.
