Everything is ready for the third edition of Lucca Città di Carta cultural festival which officially opens Saturday 27 April at 10.15am with the ribbon cutting at the Real Collegio, the historic location of the city and also of the event, which involves a truly intense two days free entry continuously from 10am to 7pm. THE SPECIAL FEATURES
For this third edition there are many peculiarities/novelties arriving at the Festival. The first will be noticed immediately: at the entrance of the Real Collegio the legendary woman will be there to greet the public Bianchina from the ‘Ask the Dust’ project. Fuchsia, 1965, Bianchina is a traveling bookshop. From Naples then come the Scugnizzi, or rather the boys from Scampia who had the courage to open a bookshop in the drug dealing places and had great success. They are the boys of Marotta&Cafiero editions and they will tell their story at the Festival. They will also hold a special workshop for children dedicated to printing on Sunday morning at 10.30. And it is dedicated to the history of printing the Gutenberg area edited by Emporium Athestinum, a cultural association from Este, which has attracted the enthusiasm of the public of Lucca Città di Carta for two editions. In this area located on the ground floor of the Royal College, adults and children alike will be able to try printing and learn about Gutenberg’s history for two days. On the first floor, among the novelties of the Festival, there will be a space dedicated to lovers of board games thanks to the collaboration with Ludus in Tabula APS where the public, between one event and another, will be able to try games and have fun from 10am to 7pm. Furthermore, in Lucca Città di Carta, the public will be able to take an incredible journey through the writing of adventure novels, through anecdotes and personal experience by a world-famous writer. THE EXHIBITIONS
There are three exhibitions present in Lucca Città di Carta. He arrives at the Real Collegio exceptionally for the festival “Beauty rediscovered” photographic and living testimony of the exile of entire generations of Syrians. THE FOOD AREA: TASTING BOOKS
The great novelty of this edition is the curated Food area by the Lucca Chefs Association, a collaboration strongly desired by the Festival to guarantee a simple but high quality menu. For the public, also made up of foreigners given the coincidence of the long weekend of April 25th, quick and light dishes have been designed that reflect the Lucca and Tuscan tradition and also a snack moment. It will also be possible, for those who wish, to taste Romani Olearia’s organic oil. The offer is completed by Rasinia craft beer and EarthSpresso eco-friendly coffee points, where the public can stop to taste and have a chat.
