What is happening to Vittoria? Concerned citizens, politicians ask to shed light –

“A few weeks ago a brutal murder and yesterday, April 25, an attempted murder which targeted a man already belonging to the Dominante-Carbonaro clan” what is happening to Vittoria?

A sequence that worries citizens and on which full light must be shed. Various interventions have been made in recent hours regarding the events that occurred yesterday.

Among these is that of Senator Sallemi (FDI), who announces that he will bring what is happening to the attention of the Anti-Mafia Commission.

“All institutions must give signs of attention and closeness to Vittoria, a city that has already paid a heavy price for the mafia wars between the 1980s and 1990s. I will bring to the attention of the National Anti-Mafia Commission what is happening in the city and I have already asked President Chiara Colosimo for a visit to Vittoria to take stock of a complex picture. Vittoria has the antibodies to reject the mafia resurgence and in this process the closeness and commitment of all institutional actors is needed” declares Sallemi.

The shooting that took place near the Vittoria cemetery in which the victim was Roberto Di Martino, a 62-year-old who was believed to be an alleged killer in the 1990s and who later became a collaborator with justice, caused an impression in the town, recalling the dark years of the war between the clans .

Peppe Scifo, general secretary of the CGIL of Ragusa commented as follows: “The wounding of Roberto Di Martino following a gun attack is a worrying sign for the City of Vittoria.

A few weeks after the murder of a young man, concern returns and tragic memories of past seasons return when murders and clan wars were frequent. Vittoria has always been a difficult city, attacked by mafias and organized crime with drugs, racketeering and the mafia imposition of services in the world of the “legal” economy.

The CGIL stands alongside the institutions in this battle, so that there can be rebellion and concrete resistance against the mafias. And above all, it is necessary that in the economic and entrepreneurial apparatus the guard is raised to the maximum, raising barriers so that the healthy parties do not mix with the mafia enterprises even if “clean” in appearance”.
