He had gone to Livigno, in Alta Valtellina, for a job interview and there he disappeared. Nine months of emptiness. And now the 22-year-old Apulian Vincenzo D’Introno, originally from Bari, has been found in the shopping center of Fiumicino, on the outskirts of Rome. Some mall security guards found him after seeing him in a state of confusion: they became suspicious when they saw the boy eating the leftovers of other fast food customers.

Vincenzo D’Introno rediscovered, the story

This is how they approached him: «When he told us his name was Vincenzo, we understood that it was him because that same morning he had asked a colleague to make a phone call home»one of the two vigilantes told the TV program Pomeriggio Cinque.

At that point the police and a representative of the Penelope association showed up on the scene. «Before calling to alert the police, we approached him – the Penelope Association tells the program – because in the meantime we were in contact with his family members who had already set off on their journey. But we didn’t succeed». But there was no doubt that it was Vincenzo: that morning he called his mother, he had the number. She recognized him immediately. In all these months it is not known where the 22-year-old has been, also because no reports have ever been received. At first it was thought he had taken a train to Milan and he remained there. It was only known with certainty that last July 8 the boy had taken a bus from Livigno headed to Tirano, another municipality in the province of Sondrio, probably with the aim of reaching Milan and then being able to return to Bari. ‘last time with the family then silence. The family has never stopped looking for him in all these months.
