PAVIA – April 25th, Liberation Day from Nazi-Fascism, saw a large turnout in state cultural venues, with the free entry initiative promoted by the Ministry of Culture. According to preliminary data made available, yesterday the Certosa di Pavia recorded a total of 3,425 visitorsconfirming the public’s interest in history and art on such a symbolic day for Italy.

Other places in Lombardy attracted a considerable number of visitors, confirming the interest in the history and art of the region. For example, the Pinacoteca di Brera recorded 2,017 visitors, while Palazzo Ducale in Mantua welcomed 2,750 people. These data demonstrate how culture is the protagonist in national celebrations, offering citizens the opportunity to explore and enhance the artistic and historical heritage of the area.

“Free entry into state museums, archaeological parks and places of culture, again this year, on three highly symbolic dates for our history such as 25 April, 2 June and 4 November, is not a formal choice but substantial because it intends to link our cultural heritage to important days for the nation. Today we celebrate Liberation Day from Nazi-Fascism. On the occasion of these three anniversaries, I strongly wanted the free opening of our museum sites so that visitors could enjoy our artistic beauties and also making culture the protagonist of such significant anniversaries.
