Everything is ready at the Chaos of Terni to welcome ‘Emotional Distances’, the exhibition by Piero Mottola curated by Pasquale Fameli, scientific director of the Siri Opificio Arti Centre. Opening of the exhibition scheduled for Saturday 4 May at 6 pm in the Ronchini Project room.

‘Emotional distances’ An exhibition, which starts on Saturday, which is divided into three levels, enhancing characterizing aspects of the artist. There is a first visual level, represented by the ‘Chromatic Articulations’ (2005), the installation one, represented by the ‘Map of ten emotions that reproduces ‘Voices’ (2016) and the performative one returned to visitors through the video documentation of two concerts. The concept of ‘distance’, present in the title of the exhibition, must therefore be understood in a double sense: the spatial factor of the length that separates and connects the works and the user, but also the different modality of access to the experience of sound envisaged by each work. The exhibition therefore invites the visitor to immerse himself in a synesthetic environment, rich in visual and sound stimuli connected to as many emotional states.

Piero Mottola Artist and experimental musician, active for many years on the national and international scene, Piero Mottola explores the relational and emotional possibilities of sound through analyzes based on empirical data, collected in direct contact with users. From the combination of these data the artist creates visual works, sound installations and performances. The exhibition is part of the activities of the Prin 2022 Pnrr ‘Art Sound Environment’ project. Towards a New Ecology of Landscape’, funded by the European Union which involves teachers and researchers from the University of Bologna, the University of Roma Tre and the ‘Gaetano Braga’ Higher Institute of Musical and Dance Studies of Teramo. The exhibition will remain open to visitors in Terni from Saturday 4 May to Sunday 16 June, from Thursday to Sunday, from 10am to 1pm and from 5pm to 8pm.
