2024 Ford E-Transit – Extended Range

Ford Pro has presented a new version of the E-Transit with extended autonomy, greater power and better performance best-selling electric van in Europe.

This new model, currently being launched to customers around the world, boasts a battery with 89 kWh of useful capacityoffering amaximum autonomy up to 402 km, and improved AC and DC charging performance. Customers will also benefit from a service interval extended to two years or unlimited mileage, doubling the current interval.

Like all models in the E-Transit range, the extended range version is also perfectly integrated with the Ford Pro platform, which offers connected software and charging solutions. This integration supports customers in optimally managing charging, simplifies maintenance operations and minimizes downtime, thus reducing overall costs of use.

Extended range E-Transit is a further example of Ford Pro’s commitment to making electric vehicle fleets a reality across Europe – said Hans Schep, General Manager, Ford Pro, Europe. Giving the possibility to travel longer distances between one charge and another, offering a wide range of versions, and the support of the integrated and connected ecosystem of Ford Pro allows us to be the ideal partner for all-round fleet management.

The E-Transit with extended range was designed and conceived for those who work not only in city areas, but also extra-urban areas and in colder climates. This model offers complete solutions also for equipped vehicles that need greater capacity and auxiliary power. This new model will be available to order later in the year, with the first deliveries expected in 2025.

Improved electrical performance

In addition to the previously mentioned power and autonomy performance, the van has the steam injection heat pump as standard, designed to heat the passenger compartment more efficiently at low temperatures. The system is similar to the one found on the E-Transit Custom – the first electric commercial vehicle to use this technology – and is designed to improve energy efficiency and optimize range in colder weather conditions.

Ford engineers have significantly improved E-Transit charging performance for all extended-range models. The maximum AC charging capacity has been increased from 11 kW to 22 kW, meaning a full overnight charge takes less than six hours3. Furthermore, the DC fast charging capacity has been increased from 115 kW to 180 kWallowing a 10 minute charge add up to 116 km of autonomywhile a charge from 10 to 80% takes approximately 28 minutes.

2024 Ford E-Transit – Extended Range

Ford Pro’s end-to-end solutions for charging in depots, homes and public areas include hardware installation and maintenance, as well as intelligent software that helps customers manage charging to maximize efficiency and uptime. Thanks to Ford Pro Telematics 4 software, fleet managers can easily monitor the charging performance and energy efficiency of each of their vehicles. Furthermore, they can set charging windows to take advantage of the most advantageous energy tariffs, lock chargers to prevent unauthorized use And precondition the battery to obtain maximum driving range.

In addition to optimizing energy management, fleet managers can monitor your entire fleet through a single system, thanks to the dashboards and insights offered by Ford Pro Telematics. These tools are compatible with mixed fleets that include electric, plug-in hybrid, internal combustion and even non-Ford models. Ford Pro tools can also help you quickly identify vehicles within the business that could be replaced, all things being equal, with zero-emission Transit models.

The E-Transit with extended autonomy is available in 19 versionsincluding i L3 and L4 wheelbases, van, double cab van and single cab chassis, with GVW from 3,500 kg to 4,250 kg. The maximum payload reaches 1,460 kg for vans and 1,814 kg for chassis, with a towing capacity of up to 750 kg for models with a gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kg. Additionally, it is also available with Pro Power Onboard to provide 2.3 kW of exportable power from the vehicle’s battery to power tools, equipment and setups.

Thanks to the technology it is equipped with, the E-Transit with extended autonomy allows you to significantly increase productivity and comfort on board:

  • 5G modem as standard for ultra-fast connectivity on the go
  • Wireless software update
  • Upfit Integration System – – new innovative system for controlling vehicle equipment via SYNC
  • Alexa Built-In integrated
  • Delivery Assist technology designed to help you save up to 20 seconds per delivery, equivalent to more than an hour a day.

E-Transit minibuses

Ford Pro is also expanding the E-Transit range with a new predisposition for the preparation of an electric minibus.

This new offering has been designed for customers such as taxi companies, schools and local authorities to support them in electrifying their fleets and upgrading their businesses, to respond to more stringent regulations and the introduction of over 350 low emission zones , already existing throughout Europe and in all the capitals of the European Union.
