He told her he loved her, kept sending her messages even though she stopped replying to him. He, a teacher over fifty, was even jealous of the boy that the young student, a minor, was dating. Until the most sensational gesture, that unwanted stretching of his hands which cost him arrest and house arrest on charges of aggravated sexual assault. The picture emerged from the stories of the alleged victim, a student at a high school in Ravenna, and from the investigations of the Flying Squad coordinated by the prosecutor’s office and which concern facts dating back to the end of 2023. The teacher teaches in the same school attended by the young woman and said to the investigators that he had been misunderstood, that he did not intend to molest her and for this reason he asked for a lighter measure. The decision will now be made by the investigating judge.

The investigations are still ongoing and further checks will be needed, but what emerges more and more clearly from the analysis of the man’s phone and the related messages, as well as from the girl’s testimony, is a real infatuation on the part of the teacher for the minor student. Excessive attention that was certainly not reciprocated, seasoned with jokes and gifts that brought the young woman to exhaustion. A serious story that no one suspected anything about until the other day. In the corridors of the Romagna institute the news of the alleged sexual harassment and the professor’s arrest effectively exploded. It was the investigating judge Andrea Galanti who issued the precautionary custody order at the request of the prosecutor Stefano Stargiotti, who highlighted the risk of the crime being repeated. It all dates back to the end of last year. In that period, according to the investigators, the teacher began to pay particular attention to the student.
HARASSMENT
First a few exchanges of words, then a compliment, then another; up to those meetings outside the school walls. Sending messages was frequent. The adult would even have given her some gifts, in particular costume jewelery from a brand that was particularly fashionable among young people. From words to deeds. The teacher, according to the student’s story, tried to kiss her until he stretched out her hands. At least three incidents of sexual harassment by the teacher were reported. Attention was not reciprocated to the point that the student had decided to stop extracurricular meetings until she developed panic attacks.
THE INVESTIGATIONS
The growing discomfort pushed her to confide in her mother, thus breaking the silence on this painful situation. The young woman had reached the point where she no longer wanted to go to school and she suffered from panic attacks. Thus, it was her mother who reported the incident, allowing the Ravenna prosecutor’s office and the police to start investigations. You started from the seizure of the teacher’s smartphone from which it was possible to ascertain the content of the correspondence with the student. During the interrogation, the suspect denied the accusations and said that his actions had been misunderstood. He would never have tried to reach out or grope the young woman. According to his version, in short, it was all a big misunderstanding. But the court still decided to proceed with precautionary custody, taking into account the fear of the prosecutors that the teacher could have continued to implement the disputed conduct again. From the messages, after all, it emerged that the teacher was truly infatuated with someone who certainly didn’t go to school every day to receive that type of attention. The Ravenna school community was shocked by the news. The institute, which was unaware of everything until the arrests were notified, immediately offered to collaborate with the authorities to clarify the matter. The defense has requested a mitigation of the precautionary measure and the decision now rests with the investigating judge. Currently the teacher remains suspended from school work, but even if the judge were to express his opinion by satisfying the suspect and resorting to a lighter measure, the teacher would still not return to the classroom.
