An earthquake swarm is underway in the area of Phlegraean Fields starting from 03.38 am. This was communicated by theVesuvian Observatory which preliminarily recorded 9 earthquakes. The event of greatest intensity was detected at 03.47 am with a magnitude of 2.4 degrees and epicenter ad Agnano Pisciarelli to a depth of two kilometers and three hundred meters.
“The Vesuvian Observatory has communicated to this administration that starting from 03:38 local time on 04/26/2024 (UTC 01:38) a sequence of seismic events is underway in the Campi Flegrei area. At the time of issue of this press release, 9 earthquakes with magnitude Md ≥ 0 and maximum magnitude Md=2.4±0.3 had been preliminarily detected – wrote in a note the Municipality of Pozzuoli.
