Clouds, rain and some clear spells: unstable weather in Bergamo

The bridge that connects April 25th to May 1st continues. Maurizio Sabatino of the Lombard weather centre accompanies us to see what the weather will be like in the next few hours and days.

Synoptic analysis
In the central-northern Atlantic, the presence of a minimum pressure will convey cold western currents to the European continent. The translation of the aforementioned minimum towards the Portuguese coasts will favor the influx of humid and unstable south-western currents. Days characterized by cloudy skies and widespread rainfall until Sunday morning.

Friday 26 April 2024
Estimated time: Increasing cloudiness starting from the western sectors, accompanied by weak and sporadic precipitation phenomena, moderate in Varesotto and Orobie (snow level around 900 m). Cloudiness further increasing from mid-day with more widespread precipitation phenomena, of a moderate, locally strong nature, on all the Lombardy mountains (snow quota which will undergo a slight increase and will settle at around 1200-1400 m). Some temporary clearing along the eastern side of the region. Probable showers/thunderstorms from late afternoon in Lower Garda, Cremonese and Mantovano.
Temperatures: Minimum stationary and between +6/8 °C; maximum stationary and between +15/17 °C; freezing level slightly increasing and between 1600/1800 m.
Winds: In the plains weak eastern; weak southern altitudes.

Estimated time: Very cloudy over much of the region with light to moderate precipitation in Varesotto, Lariano and Orobie (snow level around 1400 m). In the plains we could see temporary clearings, likely in the eastern sectors, and scattered rainfall which could only locally become moderate. Attenuation of the phenomenology and some clearing, from the evening, along the plain areas.
Temperatures: Minimum temperatures slightly increasing and between +8/10 °C; maximum temperatures stationary or slightly increasing and between +16/18 °C; aerothermal increasing and between 1900/2100 m.
Winds: In the plains weak eastern; weak southern altitudes.

Estimated time: Very cloudy in the morning along the Alpine and pre-Alpine mountains with widespread precipitation. Cloudy with weak and sporadic precipitation phenomena, rapidly improving, along the flat areas. Large clearings from mid-day, starting from the central-eastern sectors and attenuation of precipitation in the Alps and Pre-Alps. Cessation of phenomenology, from the evening, over the entire region.
Temperatures: Minimum temperatures rising and between +10/13 °C; maximums increasing and between +18/22 °C; aerothermal increasing and between 1900/2100 m.
Winds: In the plains weak/moderate eastern tending to become weak; at moderate southern altitudes.
