The appointment took place only in the last few weeks, when there was the approval of the ministerial structure that deals with institutions in crisis. “It was certainly an administrative experience that was greatly affected by the financial situation – says budget councilor Mariangela Faraci – we found ourselves faced with unexpected situations and others that perhaps were underestimated. However, we have always worked to try to find solutions to protect the institution and the city. The staff has always been numerically insufficient. Now, with a permanent manager, albeit with one less unit, we are continuing to prepare all the preliminary requirements for the establishment of the extraordinary liquidation commission. We are quite surprised that after all these months she still hasn’t been trained to settle in.” The OSL is the structure that will have to take charge of all the pending matters in the municipality for the years up to 2021. “It is inevitable that this situation will have to be addressed by the new municipal administration – adds deputy mayor Faraci – we are focusing on some priorities, although there are difficulties. I am referring to budget changes that have yet to be approved, to activities aimed at making revenue for the Municipality’s coffers more efficient and effective and to the Ghelas affair”.
