Tournament of Regions 5-a-side football 2024, Under 19 and Women beat Trento in the first day’s matches

April 25, 2024 9:16 pm

Very positive opening day at the 5-a-side Regions Football Tournament with the women’s selection and the Under 19 team beating Trento 2-0 and 6-1 respectively, securing the top three in the standings and legitimizing two high-level performances.

Mister Zema’s girls made their debut in the best possible way, deservedly beating Trento 2-0. One-sided match, controlled in possession and play by Captain Bianco and his teammates, more and more dangerous in Franceschetti’s area, capable of avoiding the goleada to his teammates. Goals from Folino and Dominici in the first four actual minutes of the game, in a match never in question, with the only flaw of not having achieved a greater difference in goal difference. In the final, then, the opportunity for a trio with Lucia Bianco, but the free throw awarded by the referee’s cup was rejected by the Trentino number one. First race and first three points for our girls, who are starting this adventure well in the sixtieth edition of the TdR C5 2024.

Mister Mendicino’s Under 19 team replicates the excellent performance of the girls by playing beautiful futsal, of great intensity, cynicism and experience. Six goals for Trento in the first half with many scoring opportunities for Calabria, three of which were scored positively by Verardi and twice by Gentile. Second half in which Verardi scores two more goals, followed again by Gentile and Gallo. Before the siren, finally, the goal of the Trentino flag scored by number eleven Vivian. The Calabrian representative, vice-champion of Italy in the category, immediately made things clear by earning the first three points in the standings and demonstrating all its strength.

1st DAY UNDER 15

The first seven games saw four resounding victories, two narrow victories and a draw. In Group A Campania and Marche made their mark by beating Basilicata and Umbria 7-2 and 8-1 respectively. Among the wild Campanians Dona, Chianese and Ferraro scored three doubles. Lorenzetti from the Marche played a huge poker game. In Group B, Veneto left Tuscany no chance (15-0). Jeong and D’Alessandro stand out with two hat-tricks. Two centers each for Manente, Bernardi, Lenzi and Vigolo. Molise and Sardinia are off to a good start in C. The Molise people beat Sicily 3-0 thanks to Michele’s brace. The Sardinians tried several times to place the winning attack, always caught by the Ligurians. The third breakaway was the decisive one. Floris’ hat-trick gave Sardinia wings. Ivan Andrea’s extra-large performance (4 goals) wasn’t enough for Liguria. Abruzzo and Emilia-Romagna cancel each other out at 1-1, an anomalous result for the C5. It all happened in 3 minutes in the first half between the 10th and 13th minutes. Datioli gave the Emilians the lead and they hurt themselves with an own goal. Puglia and Lombardy gave life to a match full of twists and turns with overtaking and counter-overtaking. Semeraro scored the decisive goal in the 14th minute for the Apulians’ success 4-3.

1st DAY UNDER 17

Between comebacks and goals, the Under 17s did not disappoint expectations. Group A. Campania places a strong second half and manages to get the better of Basilicata. Del Grosso and Di Troia scored twice. Marche built their success in the first two thirds of the match and defended it until the final whistle, beating Umbria 4-2. Four different scorers for the Marche players: Cardinaletti, Balducci, Baioni and Furlani. Group B. Veneto-Tuscany 21-1. The result of the only match in group B speaks for itself. Six goals for Schiavinato, four goals for Bonamore and Gallocchio. In Group C Sicily beat Molise with a clear 5-1. The Sicilians secured the result in the first half with the signatures of Pace, Romano and Salamone. The match between Sardinia and Liguria was more balanced with the former capable of digging a deep furrow with the Ligurians (in the heart of the match) who attempted a surprising comeback until the last minute (two goals in 1′ between the 15th and 16th ‘st). In the end, Sardinia withstood the blow to win 5-4. In group D, a shower of goals entertained the public, except for Friuli VG who had to lose to Piemonte VdA 3-14. Seven Piedmontese players scored, practically all the outfield players. Longo, Dias and Alves Rodrigues stand out with three hat-tricks. Abruzzo and Emilia-Romagna played it out to the centimeters, in the end they scored 3-3. The representatives chased each other throughout the match, exchanging the roles of hare and chaser several times. Misci and Capitoni with two braces led the charge for their respective teams. Lombardy began the TDR with a decisive step. The Lombards scored nine goals against Puglia in the only match of the day in group E. Medici was in great form and scored a poker.

1st WOMEN’S DAY

The start of the women’s category is anything but banal with continuous twists and turns, this is futsal at its finest. Bolzano makes Veneto suffer, Lazio and Tuscany play it out until the end, Molise overturns Sicily, Abruzzo and Emilia-Romagna do not spare themselves, Calabria overcomes Trento, Lombardy prevails at the last gasp over Puglia. Campania and Marche beat Basilicata and Umbria 3-0. In the second half Iervolino, Lombardo and Capozzoli scored for the bells. Mariotti, Vagnoni and Legge inflate the goal for the Marche. For a large part of the match, Tuscany harbored the hope of success thanks to the signing of Tesi. Lazio got the match back on the edge of the siren thanks to Marroni’s seal. Throughout the match, Veneto tried to shake off a never-subdued Bolzano, always clinging to the game. Between the 5th and 11th minute of the second half Chiaradia and Bergozzo landed the two decisive blows for the Venetians. Molise takes Sicily by surprise by beating them 6-3. Di Pirro (hat-trick) and Gritti (double) scored the goals towards the end of the match which gave the Pietrunti girls an important success. With a sumptuous second half, Sardinia managed to overcome an equipped Liguria. Double from Virdis while Fonnesu and Torresan scored in the hottest moment of the match. The only match in Group D ended in a draw. A fun, lively and exciting 2-2 draw thanks to Abruzzo and Emilia-Romagna. Protagonists Fiorenza and Masciulli, two goals each. In Group E, Lombardy also gets off to a good start, taking the match against highly rated Puglia. Mister Defilippis’ girls immediately took the lead. Selector Franco’s team responded immediately with Acquisipace and 3′ from the final whistle they hit the big target with Confalonieri.

1st DAY UNDER 19

The Under 19s closed the first round of the TDR. Basilicata, Marche, Sicily, Sardinia and Calabria have shown their muscles but the tournament is long and anything can still happen. Basilicata with two goals in the 19th minute of the second half made the winning move over Campania. Siggillino’s hat-trick launched the Lucanians. The success in the other match in Group A was clearer. Le Marche beat Umbria 8-2. Seven different scorers made the Marche team smile. The only match in Group B ended 1-1. Tuscany and Veneto exchanged two blows in the second half. Sicily struggled to shake off a tough Molise. In the end, the Sicilians managed to win 5-2 by hitting their opponents in the most uncertain moments of the match. Caltagirone scored a brace. Three points also won by Sardinia who managed to leave Liguria behind midway through the second half. The 6-3 with which the Sardinians beat the Ligurians was achieved after a series of back and forth between the two teams. Chighini inflated the net three times. Abruzzo and Piedmont VdA worked hard to overcome the excellent Emilia-Romagna and Friuli VG. Abruzzo capitalized on a super first half that ended 4-0 thanks to goals from Lanza, Bargiglione, Venturini and Notarangelo. Piedmont came from behind, managing to make the decisive overtaking in 1′, in the purest futsal style. Mileo in the 10th minute and Terzano in the 11th minute sealed the Piedmontese success. Florio’s brace wasn’t enough for Friuli VG. The Group E match between Puglia and Lombardy, two well-constructed teams, is more exciting. The Apulians always responded to every attempt by the Lombards, finishing 4-2. Dello Russo scored two goals.
