here is the record of failures

BELLUNO – Driving license test, Belluno bringing up the rear in Veneto: it is the first city with the highest number of failures in practice, the second for the theory exam. In 2023, 41.2% of Belluno candidates had to face the disappointment of not passing the theory tests and even 31.1% of those who passed that first exam then failed the driving test.

THE PAINTING
The photograph emerges from the data of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport relating to 2023, released in recent days by AutoScout24 and Egaf editions, with the support of Confarca and Unasca. 37% of Venetians who took the theory exam to obtain the B driving license last year did not pass the test, a figure which is still lower than the national average (39.9%). Among the provinces, the highest percentage of theory failures is recorded in Verona (42.3%), followed by Belluno (41.2%), Venice (39%), Rovigo (38.5%), Treviso (36 .9%), Padua (33.8%) and Vicenza (30.7%). Belluno instead stands out for its driving practice. If our province is on the first step of the Veneto podium with 31.1% who did not pass the test, followed by Rovigo (28.8%), Verona (28.4%), Venice (19.8%) Padua ( 17.7%), Treviso (14% and Vicenza (11.6%).

THE SIMULATION
But what would happen if Venetian motorists who have obtained their B license for over 5 years repeated the theory exam today? According to the simulation conducted by AutoScout24 and Egaf edizioni, together with the major Italian driving school associations Confarca and Unasca, only 24.6% of Venetians today would pass the exam fully (the national average is 22.3%), a as it highlights the importance of carrying out constant updates. But this is not a complete failure, given that the sample of Venetian citizens answered correctly on average 15 out of 20 questions.

MISTAKES
Among the most common errors are quizzes on signs, warning lights and rules of precedence. For the simulation of the theory exam, over 2,700 drivers from the AutoScout24 community who have obtained their B license for over 5 years were involved, administering a test of 20 quiz questions selected from those validated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and used during the exam (the current official test has 30 questions). What are the obstacles most encountered during driving tests? Let’s start from the data of those who pass: in 2023, as many as 80.3% of Venetians who took the driving test passed it. Among the most common driving errors, in absolute first place are intersections (52% of members), followed by public transport stops and roundabouts which divert traffic from the main lane (49%), and parking lots, in entry and exit (33%). But there are also other factors that have an impact on the final outcome, such as the size of the city and the difficulty of the roads, also considering traffic (for 76% of driving schools), but above all the candidate’s anxiety (94%) and examiner attitudes about stress (89%). For more information or to get involved by simulating the test for the B driving license theory exam, just go to the AutoScout24 website. For now the data speaks clearly: Veneto Analysis and Driving License B show that in 2023 almost four out of ten Venetian candidates will fail the theory. What if those who have already had their license for more than 5 years take the test again? Only 24.6% would fully pass it.
