“The last five years has been a bad parenthesis: once Cirio has passed we would like to design a region that is very different from the one poorly governed by the Piedmontese right, a region that first and foremost focuses on fair, accessible healthcare that guarantees and defends the rights of citizens and of citizens”, they explain in a joint note

The press conference to present the list of the Greens and Left Alliance for the Piedmontese elections, which supports the candidacy of Gianna Pentenero for the presidency of the region. Among the faces from Cuneo on the list, those of Marco Alessandro Giusta and Giulia Marro.

Both originally from the Cuneo area, from Boves and Cuneo respectively, Giusta and Marro come from different experiences in associations and local politics. «The last five years has been a bad parenthesis: once Cirio has passed we would like to design a region that is very different from the one badly governed by the Piedmontese right-wingers, a region that first and foremost focuses on fair, accessible healthcare, which guarantees and defends the rights of citizens and of citizens. From 2019 to today, Piedmontese healthcare has only taken enormous steps backwards, thanks to a private vision of essential services, which benefits those who are already privileged, and the systematic attack on acquired rights, such as that perpetrated by the Cirio council on many issues , starting with the right to terminate a pregnancy”, they said on the sidelines of the press conference.

«We would like a Piedmont suitable for young people, with more spaces and opportunities for aggregation, with measures that facilitate access to the world of work and enhance political representation for the new generations, through youth councils, regional forums and discussion tables. Let’s then think about the issue of disabled people and their families: it is time for our region to accompany the birth of foundations for independent living that link together the many positive experiences of the area. In this sense, the province of Cuneo is a privileged observation point for us, there is a long way to go. And precisely when it comes to roads, let’s think about the issue of transport, which should be reviewed by reintroducing low environmental impact rail connections between the cities of our province: the issue of accessible and sustainable mobility can no longer be postponed”, they added.

The new Piedmontese electoral law provides, for the first time, the possibility of expressing a double preference on the ballot, provided that the two candidates indicated are not of the same gender. Giusta is part of the list as an independent in the Verdi quota, Marro is in the Possibile quota: they will lead the electoral campaign arm in arm, forming a sort of ticket with a strong Cuneo connotation.

Giulia Marro, 35 years old, is an anthropologist, trainer, cultural mediator, journalist, humanitarian and artistic-cultural worker. He has worked and works with Doctors Without Borders, the Immigrant Information Center of ASL CN1, La Stampa and ARCI Cuneo-Asti. She has multidisciplinary and international experience, is part of the coordination of the Provincial Committee Living the Constitution, has been spokesperson for Cuneo Possibile for two years, and has been a councilor of the Cuneo Centro Neighborhood Committee for five years.

Marco Alessandro Giusta, 42 years old, has a degree in psychology and specialized in public administration and diversity management. Cultural designer and head of the Monastery of San Biagio, for over fifteen years he directed organisations, networks and projects in the associative, political and institutional fields, focusing on diversity and innovation, and was councilor in Turin for young people, families and rights with the council of mayor Chiara Appendino.
