(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 25 – A great success with the public, so much so that the organizers were forced to put up speakers and a video wall outside to allow those who were unable to enter to follow the event: sold out in Arco di Travertino where a lesson by Alessandro Barbero, the very popular historian and popularizer, was scheduled this afternoon. The professor’s lesson, entitled ‘Via Rasella, a partisan war action’, was part of the program of the Festa della Resistenza, the three-day event organized by Roma Capitale which began on 23 April. The 800 seats in the ‘covered square’ of Arco di Travertino sold out immediately, but the queue surrounding the building, according to the organisers, numbered around 3,000 more people. Hence the need to bring Barbero’s ‘voice’ outside too. Even the mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri listened to part of Barbero’s lesson. After the professor’s speech, the mayor went on stage to thank him and gave his speech. The partisans Mario Di Maio, Luciana Romoli, Angelo Nazio and the president of the Anpi of Rome Marina Pierlorenzi also took to the stage. Among the applause, Mayor Gualtieri then took a guitar and played ‘Bella Ciao’. (HANDLE).
