Caserta, this morning ceremony for Liberation Day. Belardo/Lavino: “Remember how beautiful freedom is to promote peace between peoples”

CASERTA. The commemorative ceremony of the seventy-ninth anniversary of the Liberation was held this morning starting at 9.45 am, at the war memorial in the capital.

The vice mayor of Sant’Arpino and provincial councilor of Caserta Speranza Belardo took part in the event representing the Atellan municipality together with the environment councilor Gaetano Lavino.

Never before has it been so important to remember the liberation of Italy from Nazi occupation and fascism. – Belardo and Lavino said – It is essential to remind the new generations of the sacrifice, in terms of human lives, that the war period that our country went through so that a new war can be avoided by any means. As highlighted several times by Senator Liliana Segre, cultivating Memory is still today a precious vaccine against indifference and helps us, in a world so full of injustice and suffering, to remember that each of us has a conscience and can use it“.

Present at the event were the Joint Forces Honor Company, made up of units from the Army, Air Force, Carabinieri, State Police, Financial Police and Penitentiary Police, the fighting and Arma and the Civil and Military authorities of the province of Caserta.

During the ceremony a wreath was laid by the Prefect of Caserta Giuseppe Castaldoaccompanied by the Mayor of the Municipality of Caserta, the President of the Province and the Commander of the Garibaldi Brigade.
