The list of the PD which will support Michele Lissia, mayoral candidate of the centre-left coalition, in the municipal elections in June was presented in the public gardens of the Visconti Castle in Pavia. Chiara Braga, leader of the Democratic Party in the Chamber, spoke at the presentation of the PD list. “It’s a beautiful team, with the right mix of professional skills and great social commitment – underlined Chiara Braga -. For those who administer a municipality, it is more necessary than ever to take care of people’s quality of life. In Pavia, as in the rest of Lombardy, we have great opportunities, but we also live among great contradictions. On 8 and 9 June, an important battle awaits us to win for the future of Europe and the governance of cities: that of Pavia is one of the challenges we care about most”.
“We want to start from the theme of security – explained Michele Lissia -: but it is certainly not the safety of truncheons and tasers, it is social security which in Pavia must be built starting from the suburbs and arriving at the centre. In our city there is great potential to be exploited starting from work. The Municipality will have to create the conditions to allow companies to come to us for a Pavia development project. Pavia must also return to being the city of culture and sport: the municipal swimming pool is one of our first objectives”.
