Napoli has a great target to strengthen the defense: it is Alessandro Buongiorno, captain of Torino and candidate to be part of Spalletti’s national team for the next European Championship. De Laurentiis, as reported by Corriere dello Sportis trying to speed up the time needed to finalize the purchase, evaluating the possibilities of closing the operation quickly.
Buongiorno will turn 25 in June and has the charisma and personality necessary to play an important role in the re-foundation process. The main problem is the cost: Torino values him at around 40 million euros, a price that the Granata club has already set in January and which they continue to ask for in view of the summer window.
The vision for the defense Napoli aims to include Buongiorno as a pillar of the new defense, to be adapted by the next coach, regardless of the game system or module he decides to adopt. Being left-footed, the idea is to pair him with right-handed Rrahmani, who recently renewed his contract. This pair could form the defensive line, completed by Di Lorenzo and another left-footed player, such as Olivera or Mario Rui, should Napoli opt for a four-man defence.
