Did you expect more from Avellino?
“Yes, we all expected a little more. They had quite a few injuries. Both Avellino and Benevento were fighting for the championship. Juve Stabia, however, did better.”
Are there any chances to win the playoffs?
“To fight to win the playoffs they have every chance. In the championship, however, they did not show their full strength. Nobody can doubt the strength of Avellino and Benevento.”
Was Serie C more difficult before?
“I did the C and the quality was superior. On a tactical level, however, it is better now. I coached people like Giunti in Serie C. There’s a little something missing in terms of quality.”
On Crotone?
“He also had some difficulties. There I would have waited a moment for the change of coach. Zauli is a good coach, Baldini had some difficulties in integrating. Crotone is an extraordinary square.”
Are the playoffs practically a new championship?
“They are very different. At that moment you put in more quality and more desire. There are also many teams with quality, such as Crotone, Avellino and Benevento. Competitively it is much more demanding.”
What was the secret of Juve Stabia? Did the public have an influence?
“In the meantime, compliments must be paid to the company, a great president with the right values and a great general manager. They have changed a lot and done well. The president trusts his collaborators a lot. We must remember that Juve Stabia was aiming for a good salvation at the beginning. The audience, then, is extraordinary. I’ve experienced it, they are truly people who put their hearts into it. I talk a lot about society because to achieve results you need a great company behind it. I have always achieved results with big companies.”
On the corporate situation of Perugia?
“Santopadre is a person who has achieved excellent results, also because he is alone. Sciurpa, who is the sponsor, has always helped him in times of difficulty. For me he is trying to help him in this moment of transfer. I feel sorry when Santopadre is criticized because he is making enormous sacrifices to keep the team. For me Sciurpa is the right person.”
