According to what we learn, the officer was about to hand them over to the prisoners and the strange behavior of the prisoners led the police to carry out the search on their colleague.
The agent also had with him mobile phone SIM cards, 22 smartphones, 22 chargers, 3 routers and a gold necklace.
After the arrest the policeman was taken under house arrest.
“Credit to the Penitentiary Police Command for the arrest of the Penitentiary policeman”.

comment by the president of the USPP, Giuseppe Moretti, and the regional secretary for Campania, Ciro Auricchio.

“Crimes of this kind should never happen – underline the two trade unionists – and the colleagues who are perpetrators must be promptly intercepted and removed because they are not worthy of wearing our uniform and because they jeopardize internal security. For this reason we wish to express our full appreciation to the Command and colleagues of the Penitentiary Police Corps of the Ariano Irpino institute – conclude Auricchio and Moretti – who, amidst a thousand daily difficulties, carry out the noble institutional mandate that the law and the Constitution entrust to us and manage to guarantee internal order and security”.
