The Taranto has appealed to Coni Guarantee Board regarding the 4 penalty points inflicted for administrative violations. The news was reported on the CONI website on Wednesday 24 April:

The Sport Guarantee Board has received an appeal presented by the Taranto Football Club 1927 Srl against the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), as well as against the FIGC Federal Prosecutor’s Office, with notification also made to the General Sport Prosecutor’s Office at CONI, responsible for subject of the request for cancellation and/or reform, pursuant to articles. 54 and 62 of the CONI CGS, subject to precautionary suspension pursuant to art. 57, paragraph 2, letter. d), same Code, of the decision of the Federal Court of Appeal of the FIGC n. 0109/CFA/2023-2024, filed complete with reasons on 23 April 2024 and communicated to today’s petition on the same date, rejecting the complaint lodged by the aforementioned appellant against the decision of the National Federal Court, Disciplinary Section, no. 0177/TFN-SD-2023-2024 of 18 March 2024, which imposed, on the company Taranto FC 1927 Srl, the sanction of a penalty of 4 points in the ranking, to be served during the current sports season.

The matter originates from the referral made with deed prot. 19389/644pfi23-24/GC/gb of 5 February 2024 by the Federal Prosecutor of the FIGC, against, among others, the Taranto Football Club 1927, to respond, by way of direct responsibility, for the violation of the art. 6, paragraph 1, of the current CGS FIGC, regarding the violation (articles 4, paragraph 1, and 33, paragraph 4, of the CGS, in relation to article 85, letter C, paragraph V, of the NOIF) registered with its Sole Director and legal representative pro tempore, Mr. Salvatore Alfonso, as well as to respond, under his own responsibility, for the violation of the art. 33, paragraph 4, of the CGS.

The appellant club, Taranto Football Club 1927, asks the Board of Guarantee to clarify the validity and validity of the reasons:
– subject to precautionary suspension, by presidential provision pursuant to art. 57, paragraph 2, letter. d), of the CONI CGS, to ascertain and declare the illegitimacy, pursuant to art. 54, paragraph 1, same Code, of the decision of the CFA of the FIGC n. 0109/CFA/2023-2024, filed complete with reasons on 23 April 2024 and communicated to today’s petitioner on the same date, rejecting the complaint lodged by the aforementioned appellant against the decision of the TFN, Disciplinary Section, no. 0177/TFN-SD-2023-2024 of 18 March 2024, (also contested), with which the sanction of a penalty of 4 points in the ranking was imposed on him, to be served during the current sports season, following to the referral of the Federal Prosecutor of 5 February 2024 (Prot. 19389/644pfi23-24/GC/gb), by way of direct responsibility, pursuant to art. 6, paragraph 1, of the current CGS FIGC, regarding the violation (articles 4, paragraph 1, and 33, paragraph 4, of the CGS, in relation to article 85, letter C, paragraph V, of the NOIF) registered with its Sole Director and legal representative pro tempore, Mr. Salvatore Alfonso, as well as by way of his own responsibility, for violation of the art. 33, paragraph 4, of the CGS;
– to therefore order the annulment of the contested resolution, in accordance with the provisions of the art. 62 of the CONI CGS, with total cancellation of the sanction imposed on him;
– to cancel and/or reform, also, all prodromal, previous, presupposed, preliminary, contextual and/or subsequent acts (if existing and even unknown) to the decision in question;
– in a subordinate position, to significantly reduce the punishment imposed on him at the federal level, keeping it within the limits of a light fine or, in a further graduated manner, to the extent of 1 or, at most, 2 penalty points.
