The Allenza Verdi e Sinistra list was presented at the Pavia Chamber of Labor which will support Michele Lissia, the centre-left mayoral candidate, in the June municipal elections. The leaders are Alessandra Fuccillo and Luca Testoni. “I have lived in Pavia since 2015 – explained Luca Testoni, candidate on the list and provincial secretary of the Italian Left -. I moved to Pavia to attend university, and I chose to stay and live there. Many others who, like me, arrived in Pavia did not have the opportunity to stay there due to the limited job opportunities: we are firmly convinced that the Municipality must have a key role in the issue of work, as required by the Municipal Statute. For this reason, after the sinking of the minimum wage in parliament by a right-wing enemy of workers, we present among our proposals that of the municipal minimum wage of 9 euros an hour. We have also seen in these weekly magazines Cantoni propose a large car park in the center of Pavia: a very ugly image that brings to mind the large Italian squares full of cars a few decades ago. Today, however, the focus must be on increasing local public transport. This is why we propose free buses for the youngest and the elderly, as well as a review of mobility with an increase in ’30 zones’, in order to eliminate road deaths. We propose this change by presenting a list that unites experienced people with several under 35s, who make up half of the list, towards a real renewal.”
