In remembering the past and honoring the present, the candidate for mayor in Sanremo Fulvio Fellegara addresses his message on the occasion of Liberation Day.
“On 25 April 2017, I had the honor of giving the official oration in Sanremo, dedicating words of memory to Vitò, Gino Napolitano and the Sanremo heroes of the resistance.
Today, in celebrating this day of freedom, my thoughts go to Vincenzo Napolitano (it is the first April 25th without him), as well as to the late Alfredo Schiavi, who passed away last year.
In a world marked by divisions and conflicts, I want to underline the importance of renewing the commitment to the defense of freedom of thought and the promotion of social cohesion. April 25, therefore, should be a moment of union and reflection for everyone.
Remembering the sacrifice of those who fought against Nazism and fascism, I urge the right-wing parties and movements currently governing the country to leave behind oppressive and discriminatory ideologies and look to the future.
I extend my thoughts to all those who, in every part of the world, fight every day for freedom and justice. Today and always resistance!”.
