Sant’Agata Li Battiati will certainly not be Portofino, first in the ranking at national level, but it is still the Sicilian city that places itself at the top of the special ranking for average income of the municipalities, with 28,768 euros. This is what emerges from the data relating to tax returns for 2023, referring to income for the year 2022, released by the Treasury Ministry.

In Sicily the first seven cities are all in the province of Catania. In fact, behind Sant’Agata Li Battiati are San Gregorio with 28,051 euros, Aci Castello with 25,751 euros, Tremestieri with 24,291 euros, Viagrande with 22,980, Trecastagni with 22,629 euros and Valverde with 22,190 euros. Among the provincial capital municipalities, Palermo is in first place with 22,103 euros, then Messina, with 22,022, Agrigento with 21,287 euros, Syracuse with 21,123, Catania with 21,091, Enna with 20,888, Caltanissetta 20,012, Trapani, 19,348, Ragusa closes with 19,225.

Among the islands, Santa Marina di Salina is at the top with 19,699 euros, in Favignana the average declared income is 18,355 euros, in Malfa, on the island of Salina, 18,593, in Ustica 17,869 euros, in Leni, also on the island of Salina, 17,364 euros, in Lipari 17,255 euros, in Pantelleria 16,167, in Lampedusa 15,488. The special ranking for Sicilian cities closes with Mazzarrone with an average income of 11,107 euros.
