In the Marche region, the referendum campaign promoted by the CGIL entitled “I Put My Signature for Work” kicks off today, April 25th. The main objective is to promote a labor reform that guarantees dignity, stability, protection and safety for all workers. The campaign focuses on four referendum questions aimed at modifying critical aspects introduced by the so-called “Job Act”, aiming to protect workers’ rights and guarantee a safer and fairer working environment.

The referendum questions:

  1. Abolition of unfair dismissals (Job Act): The first question aims to guarantee the right to reinstatement in the workplace in the event of illegitimate dismissal. The aim is to eliminate the provisions of the Jobs Act that allow companies not to reinstate unfairly dismissed employees.

  2. Protections against unfair dismissals for small businesses: The second question proposes to increase protection for workers in companies with fewer than fifteen employees, eliminating the maximum compensation limit in the event of unjustified dismissal and leaving the task of determining the compensation to the judge.

  3. Overcoming the precariousness of employment contracts: The third question aims to limit the use of fixed-term contracts to specific and temporary causes, in order to reduce precariousness in the world of work.

  4. Greater security in procurement contracts: The fourth question seeks to make work safer in the procurement system, eliminating the rule that excludes joint liability of client companies in the event of workers’ accidents or occupational diseases.

In various cities in the Marche, stands were set up to collect signatures in support of the referendum questions. Jesi, San Benedetto del Tronto, Ascoli Piceno, Macerata, Urbino, Fermignano and Fermo see the presence of these stations, offering citizens the opportunity to express their support for a fairer and safer labor reform. At a time when the debate on labor reform is at the center of public attention, the “Per il Lavoro ci Metto la Firma” campaign represents an important step forward towards building a fairer and more supportive working environment for all workers Marche.
