L’AQUILA – The unusual coming and going of men, reported by residents, led the police to raid an alleged meeting house run by Chinese, in via Giosuè Carducci. Five people were taken to the police station for checks – this is what we read in the newspaper The center –
All heard by the investigators who started the investigation. According to the second section of the L’Aquila flying squad, directed by deputy commissioner Roberta Cicchetti, the six-storey building, located in the neighbourhood, could be a possible place of prostitution. For this reason, the other day, the police carried out a first blitz, taking away the first people, under the eyes of the residents of the neighborhood who witnessed the scene.
For months, the inhabitants of via Carducci have noticed strange movements in the area, at all hours of the day and night. The investigation for exploitation of prostitution, opened by the police, has been informally reported to the public prosecutor’s office of the capital which will carry out further investigations as soon as the picture becomes clearer.
The case, given its importance, is also followed by the police commissioner of L’Aquila, Enrico De Simone. The flying team, after hearing the first five people of Chinese nationality, is looking for further elements to formulate specific accusations and define individual responsibilities. In particular, we are looking for the price list for appointments, a fundamental element for proving prostitution activity. In the next few days, some residents informed of the facts will be heard which, according to the investigators, could be useful in the investigation to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
The police are in fact reconstructing times, methods and days of greatest attendance in the building. Some clues would have come from the first testimonies collected in these hours but the circle has not yet closed. The second section of the mobile, which deals with the repression of these crimes, is also verifying whether, around the possible exploitation of prostitution, other phenomena may also be hidden, such as drug trafficking for example.
The investigation activity, we learn from investigative sources, also falls within the scope of the extraordinary checks that the police have intensified in the last period, on the entire municipal territory, on the presence of foreigners in the city.
