Gazzola is the Piacenza municipality with the highest average per capita income in the province: 30,371 euros per year. Around 4 thousand euros more than Rivergaro and Gossolengo, who placed second and third, and just under double compared to Morfasso and Zerba, last in the ranking with just over 15 thousand euros. The municipality of Val Luretta sees its average income grow by almost 3 thousand euros compared to last year (it was 27,536 euros). Piacenza is also in the high range, in fourth place with 25,440 euros.
They are the analysis of Italian incomes declared in 2023, with tax year 2022, and processed by Withub on data from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
“A fact that naturally pleases us – comments Simone Maserati, mayor of Gazzola -. What is the factor that affects the primacy? Ours is a very receptive territory. Many people from Piacenza but also many Milanese, including wealthy professionals, have moved their residence to our hamlets and localities over the years. I think of Croara, Rivalta, Momeliano, Rezzanello. They are splendid places that attract and obviously give pleasure. After all, from here you can be in Milan in an hour.” The record has no impact on municipal coffers. It would be different if they were second homes: “In that case we could benefit from the IMU” says Maserati.

From the visual analysis of the map you can immediately perceive the income distribution: the highest values distributed along the axis of the Via Emilia, from Calendasco to Alseno, with an expansion towards the south including the foothills and an offshoot in Val Trebbia; then a second segmentation which includes the hilly territories and the Lower Piacenza area; finally the mountain.
At a national level, no municipality in Piacenza is among the top thirty positions, in a ranking largely dominated by Portofino with over 90 thousand euros of average annual income per capita.
