Barletta: “This is a robbery, demm i sold”: Barletta arrested

The Agents of the Judicial Police Team of the Barletta Commissariat, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Trani, proceeded with the judicial police arrest of a young man from Barletta held responsible for an attempted robbery of a post office in the city of Colossus.

In recent days, staff from the Barletta police station intervened at the post office located in Corso Garibaldi, following a report of an attempted robbery committed by a man, described by the counter workers as approximately 1.70m tall, corpulent, who had introduced into the offices with his face distorted by a black hood and red neck warmer, holding a screwdriver, under whose threat, with a clear local dialect inflection, he shouted: “THIS IS A ROBBERY. GIVE ME THE MONEY”. After passing the metal barriers, the man opened a drawer in the workstation and, finding nothing there, dropped it to the ground. Immediately afterwards he fled, losing track of himself.

Following the reconstruction of what happened, the investigators of the State Police of the Via Manzoni offices began a careful and meticulous investigation which led to the identification and search for the alleged perpetrator of the crime, who was tracked down the following day after a night of research, at the Barletta station.

Once intercepted, the man was subjected to a search at his parents’ home during which the items of clothing he was wearing at the time of the robbery were found and seized.

The young man from Barletta, born in 1991, was then placed under police custody and taken to the Trani prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.

It should be noted that the suspect’s position is being examined by the AG and he cannot be considered guilty until a possible final sentence of conviction.
