The bills in the pockets of Italians, at least those who pay taxes. They were made by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which published the incomes declared in 2023, municipality by municipality throughout Italy, relating to the 2022 tax year.

Portofino is the municipality with the highest value, over 90 thousand euros for 301 taxpayers in total. Almost double that of the second municipality in the ranking, Lajatico in the province of Pisa.

The main Cremonese municipalities are within the national average: in the capital Cremona the average is just under 26 thousand euros, practically identical to the declarations of the previous year, while Crema, with 26,882 euros, makes a notable leap forward compared to the previous year, when the value was equal to 23 thousand and 500 euros.

From the photograph released by the Finance Department, it emerges that the Irpef declared by Italians in 2023 guaranteed the State revenues of 174.2 billion euros, with an increase of 1.9% compared to the previous year. Each citizen paid on average 5,380 euros of Irpef, declared by almost 32.4 million subjects (approximately 77% of the total taxpayers). For approximately 9.7 million subjects the net tax was zero.

Taxpayers with net tax and incomes up to 35 thousand euros (80% of the total) declare 37% of the total net tax, while the tax burden remains largely on the shoulders of the remaining 63% who declare incomes above 35 thousand euros (20% of the total taxpayers).
